Data Week is the spring event that brings together research and innovation communities from the European Big Data and Data Driven AI domain. Fostering the European ecosystem development, this event promotes synergies, collaboration opportunities, knowledge sharing, and provides a space for participants to share knowledge, results and best practices. By engaging local communities with European initiatives and activities, the event actively links these communities to European policies and market needs.

The TRUSTS Coordinator, Alexandra Garatzogianni, is a member of the Programme Committee (PC) for this year’s Data Week and will represent the Programme Committee as conference moderator, too, while joining Data Week together with her colleagues Gerrit Rosam and Michael Fribus, who are both Project Managers and Business Developers at the Leibniz University of Hannover. All of them will represent the H2020 IA projects TRUSTS, MediaFutures and PLATOON.

The main theme of Data Week 2022 is “Towards an innovative, trusted and fair European data economy” focusing on the advances made in a variety of industries all the way from media, energy, and cybersecurity to manufacturing, agriculture as well as the public sector. Data Week 2022 will take place during a period of 3 weeks. An online opening event will kick-start the activities on the 24th of May. Participants can look forward to interesting keynote speeches and individual workshops and sessions focusing on challenges in AI and data, digital twins in computing, trustworthiness in AI, the European Green Deal as well as standardisation and regulation. Finally, Data Week culminates at the 2-day physical event on June 8th and 9th in Naples, Italy, where the major topics discussed throughout the event weeks will be tackled through keynotes, panels, round tables and presentations by experts.
