SUMMARY:Open Data Day 2021
DESCRIPTION:Open Data Day is an annual celebration of open data all over the world. Groups from around the world create local events on the day where they will use open data in their communities. It is an opportunity to show the benefits of open data and encourage the adoption of open data policies in government\, business and civil society. \nAll outputs are open for everyone to use and re-use. \nIf you have an idea for using open data\, want to find an interesting project to contribute towards\, learn about how to visualise or analyse data or simply want to see what’s happening\, then come participate! Participation is a core value of Open Data Day\, everyone is free to voice their opinions in a constructive manner. No matter your skill-set or interests\, we are encouraging organisers to foster opportunities for you to learn and help the global open data community grow.

SUMMARY:IDS Q&A Workshop: How to Run an IDS Based Data Space
DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Natalia Simon\, Giulia Giussani and Christoph Mertens\, IDSA. \nIDSA has developed the key fundamentals for successfully running a data space\, IDSA members have created amazing scenarios of what a data space can look like. In the Q&A Workshop\, IDSA would like to discuss with you how to put the fundamentals together\, how to turn the scenarios into real business models. And what steps to take to turn a scenario into a secure and sovereign data space. \nThey will discuss all this in the Q&A workshop “How to Run an IDS Based Data Space” on March 18 at 10 a.m. (CET).

SUMMARY:IDS Live Session - Data Spaces Dialogue: Design Principles for European Data Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Thorsten Huelsmann\, ISDA\, and Dr. Oscar Lazaro\, INNOVALIA \nThe European Data Strategy mentions nine key domains in which data spaces should be created. It describes the availability of large pools of data\, the infrastructure to use and exchange data and appropriate governance mechanisms as key. This framework and the concept of data spaces is based on the groundwork done by the IDSA and its 120+ members from industry and research since its establishment in 2016. \nIDSA aims at open\, federated data ecosystems and marketplaces ensuring data sovereignty for the creator of the data. The sequel of IDSA LiveSessions called Data Spaces Dialogue should make clear that IDSA is the starting point on data spaces and has achieved a lot of relevant results to build future data ecosystems and the European data spaces proposed by the European Commission. \nIn the first sequel Dr. Reinhold Achatz\, ThyssenKrupp\, and Lars Nagel\, IDSA\, talked about data sovereignty and about the different achievements of IDS within the last years. A special emphasis was laid on explaining the concept of data sovereignty and its importance for businesses and future data ecosystems. n March 25\, the discussion will be enriched by two remarkable perspectives from Spain.

SUMMARY:TRUSTS & Safe-DEED webinar: Legal aspects of data sharing platforms.
DESCRIPTION:Legal frameworks are an important topic when it comes to data sharing. To share challenges and discuss possible issues\, TRUSTS and Safe-DEED are co-hosting a webinar on 31 March (11am-12pm\, CET). \n  \nAlessandro Bruni (Safe-DEED\, KU Leuven) will give an input about the public opinion view on data sharing. Lidia Dutkiewicz (TRUSTS\, KU Leuven) shares legal constraints to data sharing afterwards and answers questions to sharing data in general\, sharing sensitive data or data ownership. If there are still unanswered questions afterwards\, there will be an open Q&A session at the end of the event. \n  \nAGENDA \n11:00 Welcome I Nina Popanton\, DIO – TRUSTS\n11:10 Opportunities and challenges of data sharing (Interactive poll session) I Alessandro Bruni\, KU Leuven – Safe-DEED\n11:25 FAQ: Legal constraints of data sharing I Lidia Dutkiewicz\, KU Leuven – TRUSTS\n11:45 Open Q&A Session\n11:55 Closing
